The Gospel

The Good news

The Gospel is good news. It’s the good news. It’s the good news that something amazing and awful and tragic and redemptive happened nearly 2000 years ago just outside Jerusalem. It’s news that everyone must respond to one way or another. In a profound mystery, God the Son took on humanity in Jesus; He lived a life of perfect, joyful submission to God the Father; He died a horrendous death; He rose from the dead in shocking victory. “In Christ God was reconciling the world to himself…” (2 Corinthians 5:19 ESV).

That’s the news. Now everyone must respond. Will you turn from Jesus and refuse restoration to God? Or, will you turn to Jesus, away from sin, and be reconciled to Him? “We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:20 ESV). Everyone must respond. If you’d like to think more about your response to the Gospel, consider viewing this presentation of the Two Ways to Live. If you’ve got more questions, we would be delighted to talk them through with you. Join us on Sunday morning, or contact us.
