Living in Community
Home Groups
During the week, members of FBCW meet up in small groups in each others’ homes. We’re aiming to help each other walk with Jesus by sharing each other’s burdens and celebrating each other’s joys. Relationships go deeper, prayers are more focused, and Bible application is more detailed in these mid-week gatherings.
Men’s Breakfast
On the first Tuesday of every month, the men in our church get together for a 6:45 breakfast at Market Street on 19th and Quaker. There’s not much on the agenda except to build biblical friendships in which we sharpen and encourage each other.
Bible reading challenge
Psalm 1 tells us that we’re blessed when we “delight in the law of the Lord, and meditate on it day and night” (Ps 1:2). If feasting on God’s Word is good for our souls, it would be great if we did that together. We have put together a reading schedule that takes us through the New Testament in 6 months. Our challenge to you is this: take up your Bible and read it!
The schedule covers roughly two chapters per day, Monday–Friday. Use the weekends to catch up if you fall behind, or just jump back into whatever the current day’s reading is. We’ve got the plan laid out here, including links to the ESV audio version, so you can listen to the day’s reading if that works better for you.
